Ceramics Painting Class

We have openings for seniors, age 60 and older, for our Ceramics Painting Class.  The class meets from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. every Monday at the Senior Center at Jenks Rest in Columbian Park.   Taught by Marie Amstutz, the class is ongoing and participants can join anytime. The cost is $5.00 per class and includes materials, instruction and firing of finished works.  Participants are asked to sign up and pay at the start of each class.  Due to small class size, participants get individualized attention.  Marie, the class instructor, brings ceramic bisque pieces for staining or glazing.  She fires the glazed pieces for participants.  “No experience is needed and beginners are welcome”, says Marie.   “It’s a fun class and if the pieces are good enough, they can be sold through the Senior Center Gift Shop or an annual sale held by the class to raise money for materials.”  Transportation to the class can be provided through the council’s Care-A-Van program.
