The Cooperative Transportation Program (CTP) provides transportation for
United Way agencies through a centralized transportation system.
Key Benefits
Who Does The Program Serve?
When Does CTP Operate?
-
CTP is available seven (7) days a
week from 8 a.m. to midnight depending upon availability of vans and
drivers.
-
Tippecanoe County Council on Aging
will supply the van(s), gas and driver(s).
What Are The Rules and Regulations?
- Scheduling is first come, first served.
- Agencies should try to schedule with CTP at least a week
in advance. Anything less than that is subject to availability of vans and
drivers
- To schedule CTP, please provide the following information
in writing by mail, email or fax:
U. W. Agency Requesting CTP
Contact Person
Address
Phone Number
Fax Number
Trip Date
Destination
Begin and End Times
Number of Passengers
Number of Wheelchairs, if any
- During weekdays (Care-A-Van hours), availability of
wheelchair lift vans is limited if not unavailable.
- Scheduled times must be observed. CTP drivers can
wait no longer then one-half an hour for agency participants or employees to
arrive before a trip may have to be rescheduled.
- Please cancel a CTP trip as soon as possible. This
allows other agencies the opportunity to schedule. Cancellations should be
called into Larry McClure, Transportation Manager, at 447-1117. If you are
concerned that the manager may not get the message in time to cancel the
van/driver, please call his cell phone at 491-8471.
- The penalty for a no show is a $20 fee.
- Participation in the CTP is a privilege. This
privilege will be withdrawn if an agency's participation in this project
poses a threat to the safety of the drivers and/or other participants. All
agencies shall instruct their participants on acceptable behavior for riding
the CTP van.
- At least one adult representative of the agency
shall ride the van with any age participants. The ratio for children under
the age of six (6) shall be one supervisor per every six children. For
participants six years of age and older the ratio shall be one supervisor
per 14 participants
- All participants who ride CTP vans must wear
appropriate seat belts or passenger restraints as required by law at all
times. This includes approved car seats and/or booster seats.
- The noise level in the van must be such that the
driver can hear sirens or the two-way radios at all times.
- Only one representative of the group may give
directional instructions to the driver or request a stop.
- Agencies being transported will cover the cost of
any mandatory fees, such as parking or entrance fees. Any additional driver
costs are discretionary to the participating agency.
- Candy and gum are not permitted on the van.
- Agencies are responsible for cleaning and
inspecting the van at the end of transport.
- No CTP trips will be out of state.
- No CTP events will keep the vans/drivers overnight.
- For safety reasons, if the 15 passenger van is used
on the highway for out of town trips, there is a limit of 10 passengers
(including the driver).
- Agencies are asked not to tip the drivers but may
make a contribution to:
